Skill Matrix & AI Suggestions

Kiket’s workflow intelligence stack keeps team capability data fresh so assignment and automation decisions stay grounded in reality. This guide walks through the three pillars of the skill experience: individual profiles, AI-driven refresh prompts, and the org-wide matrix view.

Skill Profiles

  • Build each teammate’s profile by declaring skills, proficiency (1–5), and interest (0–3).
  • Managers can endorse updates, and stale skills (>6 months without activity) are flagged with inline badges.
  • Profiles feed Assignment Optimizer 2.0, usage analytics, and automation recipes.

AI Suggestions

  • Nightly SkillAdvisorJob gathers recent issues, commits, and calendar context per user.
  • VertexAI::SkillAdvisorService returns structured recommendations with actions:
  • add_skill – seed a new entry with suggested proficiency.
  • adjust_proficiency – bump an existing level when the data supports it.
  • confirm_still_active – refresh the last-used timestamp for dormant skills.
  • mark_inactive – lower the signal for skills that haven’t been touched.
  • Pending suggestions surface in the “Suggested Updates” card on the skill profile page. Each entry shows confidence, rationale, and references.
  • Accepting or dismissing suggestions updates usage telemetry (skill.suggestion_*) and immediately refreshes the profile.

Command Palette Shortcut

Open the palette (⌘/Ctrl + K) and run “Review skill suggestions” to jump directly to the suggestions panel.

Skill Matrix View

  • Navigate to People → Skill Matrix to review coverage at the organization or project level.
  • Filters available: project, multi-select skills, minimum score, availability bands, and interest tiers.
  • Heatmap cells group teammates by proficiency with color-coded score chips (strong/solid/moderate/weak/gap).
  • Summary metrics highlight open demand, due-soon work, available capacity, and average coverage score.
  • Drill into rows to inspect top candidates, endorsements, stale signals, and upcoming calendar conflicts.

Export & API

  • Use the Export CSV button to download matrix snapshots (skill demand, per-user proficiency, calendar minutes, endorsements).
  • JSON responses are exposed at /skills/matrix.json with the same payload used by the UI for custom integrations.

Next Steps

  • Add the usage dashboard card that tracks skill suggestion adoption and stale-skill conversion (see TODO entry usage dashboard card for skill suggestion adoption).
  • Extend analytics to surface gap trends and upgrade CTAs for advanced insights.
